Dr. Angelica McHugh

Dr. Angelica Garcia McHugh discovered her love for science at an early age. Her eyes were opened to the joys of the health sciences back in high school through an anatomy and physiology course. As she volunteered in different health care settings to discover which career path was the right fit, she was greatly influenced by her older brother who is a dentist.

“While shadowing my brother, I became fascinated with oral health’s ability to serve as a window into our overall health. As dentists with this insight, we can help educate others and improve their lives.”

Dr. McHugh attended the University of Texas at El Paso for her undergraduate studies in Biology. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2004. From 2002 to 2014, Dr. McHugh volunteered in several mission trips to Mexico and the Texas Mission of Mercy providing free dental care to those in need.

She brings 14 years of diverse experience working in a variety of settings to include private practice and public health in Texas, Utah and Arizona. While practicing in a community health center in Utah, she also served as adjunct faculty to the students of Roseman College of Dental Medicine and the Arizona School of Dentistry. Dr. McHugh enjoys treating children and adults, and is fluent in English and Spanish.

“One of the most rewarding parts of dentistry is developing trust and good relationships with my patients.”

She is a proud Air Force wife of more than 12 years and recently moved to Tucson. As an El Paso native, she is excited to be once again surrounded by the beautiful desert mountains. Outside of the office Dr. McHugh loves spending time with her husband and daughter. She stays active with hiking, running, and various group exercise classes, traveling, plus enjoys volunteering at church and daughter’s school.
